During his keynote speech, Dr. Fu-Yuan Hsieh, Deputy General Counsel of TSMC, emphasized that the key to successful trade secret management lies not in the system itself, but in how companies gain executive support and ensure effective implementation internally.
Dr. Hsieh noted that while the industry showed strong interest in “incentive mechanisms” last year, he firmly believes in “building the system foundation first, then discussing incentives.” Only by establishing a comprehensive trade secret registration system and preserving information critical to competitive advantage can companies transform data into analyzable digital assets capable of driving further innovation in the era of generative AI and data applications.
He further advised companies to establish trade secret registration systems as early as possible, warning that without a structured data foundation, achieving true intelligent management in the future may prove difficult.

As a member of the Trade Secret Smart Management Alumni Association, Yesiang Enterprise was also invited to share its practical experience and insights during the event. Mr. Ian Kuo, Senior Legal Manager of Yesiang Enterprise, stated that it was a great honor to engage in in-depth exchanges with TSMC and other industry leaders. He shared that Yesiang began learning from TSMC and introduced trade secret registration-related systems in 2025. At Yesiang, the company recognized that the key lies in building a robust “knowledge base” while preserving innovation records and development traces. The company directly integrated trade secret registration forms into its existing internal systems, encouraging employees to proactively submit registrations. In addition to integrating trade secret management with ESG initiatives, Yesiang also adopted TSMC’s approach by establishing the “Golden Trade Secret Award.” This program encourages employees to register critical technologies developed during R&D processes. Even trade secrets unsuitable for patent applications can still receive recognition and promotion opportunities through the system, successfully transforming employees’ innovative capabilities into the company’s sustainable competitive advantage.
